On May 6th, 2025, the exhibition “The New Reality” took place!
We find ourselves once again in a festive, truly memorable moment — the ninth event of this kind, where we have the joy of presenting 50 works (painting and graphic art), displayed on the walls of the Youth House in Timișoara.
For those who don’t know me, my name is Andrei Moga, and together with the MGA team, I passionately coordinate this small–yet–big painting club on Porumbescu Street no. 13 in Timișoara.
Over time, the themes approached in our exhibitions have carried strong messages: “Kings and Queens,” “Chiaroscuro,” “Look Up” — all with the intention of impressing and provoking.
“The New Reality,” however, brings us into the present and opens us toward the future. We gradually step away from traditional landscapes, the idyllic shepherd, or the basket of fruit, and move toward new visual and conceptual horizons. We have formed an artistic circle in continuous evolution, in a world where augmented reality becomes part of everyday life.
In this context of artistic uncertainty, this club is certainly not “under anesthesia” — and the proof lies in the exhibited works, created by artists aged between 6 and over 70.
Although we differ in professions and life paths, we are united by our love for beauty, for color, and for its evolution. We have built friendships, shared life stories, and explored concepts from art history. Among us are architects, future architects, graphic designers — and this blend of perspectives helps us build bridges between generations and talents.
Still, drawing and painting are not learned once and for all — they require practice and perseverance.
Alongside me this evening is Mrs. Veronica Balaj — journalist, prose writer, and member of the Writers’ Union of Romania — as well as our dear friend, painter Mihai Olteanu.
But before I give them the floor, allow me to paraphrase the “archduke of quantum physics,” Albert Einstein:
“A person’s greatest strength is imagination. It creates worlds, things, and situations out of nothing, just like the matter in the universe.”
The exhibition can be admired until May 17th. Thank you all for your presence, and I kindly ask you to enjoy the diversity of the visual journey offered. Thank you — the exhibition is officially open.
The “Chiaroscuro” Exhibition
On September 16th, 2024, the Youth House in Timișoara hosted a captivating painting exhibition dedicated to the theme “Chiaroscuro.”
This exhibition was created with great passion by the members of the MGA painting workshop, who produced the 40 displayed works. Each piece reflects the artists’ talent and creativity, highlighting the nuances and contrasts characteristic of the chiaroscuro style. The exhibition was open for two weeks, until September 29th, 2024, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the artistic vision of the young artists of the MGA workshop and to celebrate art as a form of personal expression. The atmosphere of the event was vibrant, emphasizing the importance of the artistic community in Timișoara.
